Verstappen explains why it's easier for Alonso to leave F1 as he compares his own situation

Both Verstappen and Alonso have expressed their displeasure at the current generation of cars, with the latter saying that the regulations could have a say on his future.

Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen said that he can "easily stop" but explained why Alonso would find it easier to walk away from Formula 1 than himself.

Asked about Alonso's comments and the possibility of the two time champion walking away from F1, Verstappen told the media, including GPblog: "I fully agree with him. It is not what you want. Of course, Fernando is 45 so it's probably easier for him to say "I quit" because he has already done, basically his career. I would love to see Fernando race until he's 60 but I don't think that's realistic in Formula 1.

The so-called 'Macarena' wing will return for Red Bull at the Hungarian Grand Prix, after it was scrapped in Belgium after it contributed to multiple incidents involving Verstappen in Austria and Silverstone.

Speaking to Viaplay, he said: "We assume the issue has been resolved, but of course I don't know that. They have done multiple tests and performed other tests. Hopefully, it closes correctly now. That is the goal, after all."

The Dutchman added: "Fortunately, they were also able to simulate it. It is already very nice that you can replicate the problem. Now I just hope it has been resolved, because you obviously don't want that to happen here."

Verstappen was then asked whether the 'Macarena' wing would be back on the RB22 this weekend. "Yes," he affirmed.
