Verstappen cynical about chances: ''I won't finish the race anyway''

Max Verstappen couldn't resist making a comment about his own failures during an online race. On TikTok there is now a video going around with a somewhat cynical Verstappen.

Verstappen crashed out of the Australian Grand Prix with a problem in his car for the second time this year. In Bahrain, the reigning world champion also saw a sure second place go up in smoke due to a stoppage and logically that does not sit well with the Dutchman. This is evident from an online conversation.

When one in the session says they have to start from the back, Max hooks up with that himself. ''At the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me if I start from the front or the back anyway. I don't finish the race anyway.'' After the comments, there are some cautious laughs from his teammates and Max also shoots a smile himself.

Verstappen has two weeks to recover from the setback in Melbourne. On May 1, the Grand Prix in Imola, Verstappen has to be there again with his team. Red Bull has sent the engine of the Dutchman to Japan where Honda has to look at it. Hopefully that will provide the solution.
