Max Verstappen already voiced his opinion on working with Mekies so far in Zandvoort. The Dutchman explained too much shouldn't be expected of Mekies too early, and implementing changes takes time.

Talking to De Telegraaf, Mekies shared his thoughts on working with the four-time world champion so far.
"After four weeks of effectively working together, I can tell you this: Max is even more extraordinary outside the car than he is inside the car. What he shows on the track is unquestionable," Mekies began.

According to the Frenchman, this exceptionality is evident in Verstappen's multitasking and level of sensitivity in the car, his dedication, and being self-critical.
Furthermore, the he says the Dutchman possesses a very constructive and positive way of communicating and providing feedback.
"As a team principal, you then want to make even more use of him," Mekies suggested.
