F1 Full Results | Kimi Antonelli takes Pole Position for Belgian GP

Pole-sitter Antonelli's quickest lap time of 1:44.361 in Q3 was enough to edge out Max Verstappen, ahead of Lando Norris in P3. Norris was looking strong for P1 before the final flying runs, but a ten-place grid penalty has already been confirmed for the Briton. Antonelli's Mercedes teammate George Russell will consequently start Sunday's race in third.

Q2 saw a close battle to make the final 10, with Liam Lawson, the Racing Bulls driver without upgrades this weekend getting knocked out by 0.04s. Behind him in Q2 came Alpine duo Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, Audi's Nico Hulkenberg, Williams' Carlos Sainz and Haas' Ollie Bearman.

Although out of Qualifying in Q2, Hulkenberg was ordered to park up his Audi on the run down to Pouhon due to a suspected hydraulic leak - a slight delay to Q3 the result as marshals set about clearing the car away.

Towards the back of the grid, failing to make it out of Q1 yet again were the Cadillac and Aston Martin duos, while Esteban Ocon and Alex Albon also failed to progress. As Alpine's Franco Colapinto secured a place in Q2 on his final attempt, Albon missed out by just seven thousandths of a second to Haas' Ollie Bearman.

However, Red Bull's Isack Hadjar and the Aston Martin duo Alonso and Stroll have already been confirmed to start from the back of the grid for Sunday's race, all due to PU changes over their allocated allowances. Meanwhile, Norris will also be further down the grid than his Qualifying finish, receiving a ten-place penalty for taking his fourth power electronics unit of the season.
