Is Verstappen disagreeing with the FIA again? 'That's a different matter'

Max Verstappen did very well in the United States in the battle for the world drivers' title. The Red Bull Racing driver is getting closer and closer to winning his fourth consecutive F1 World Championship. If he does so, he will be presented with the trophy at the FIA gala. That event will take place after the season in Rwanda.

There is an outbreak of the Marburg virus in the African country; an infectious and deadly virus. The FIA has already announced that the prize-giving ceremony will go ahead 'as normal'.

Asked if the Dutchman has been asked by the FIA whether the gala in Rwanda can go ahead, Verstappen says: "I haven't spoken to them, so I don't know. They haven't said anything to me, I've read about that as well. They have to say it's safe or not. Whether I think it's safe or not is a different matter."

Verstappen's inability to say what he thinks may be related to his continued punishment for using a swear word during a press conference in Singapore. Since then, the driver has been cautious in his statements, at least about the FIA.

Does he bite his tongue more? "Well, I mean, you always have to be politically correct. That's always been the case. But I think with some of the things that have come in lately, that makes it a little bit less enjoyable," Verstappen refers to the punishment and the fun he has in the sport as a result.
