In the future, the Alfa Romeo team, led by Frederic Vasseur, will want to put more emphasis on the independence of the team, especially in relation to Ferrari, Vasseur said in a conversation with Autoweek.com.
Talking to Autoweek, Vasseur makes it clear that his team is not a Ferrari "satellite operation". "We have our factory, our own wind tunnel, we do a lot ourselves.”
According to Vasseur, Alfa Romeo's independence contrasts with Ferrari's much closer ties with Haas, which Vasseur implies is a satellite operation. However, he does not "want to criticize the Haas model, as everyone has their project, their structure, their constraints.”

Future of the collaboration?

As it stands now, the technical collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Ferrari will end in 2021, and it is still unclear how it will take shape in the future. "We are currently in discussions", concludes Vasseur.
