This was the best Grand Prix of 2021 chosen by the F1 fans

Formula One fans have been able to choose their favorite 2021 Grand Prix over the past few days. In total, more than 52,000 fans voted on F1.com and in the end the Italian Grand Prix was voted the best race.

Special victory for McLaren

The Italian Grand Prix was a special race. Title contenders Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton ended up in the gravel pit together and scored no points. This allowed Daniel Ricciardo to take his first victory since Monaco 2018 after a rock-solid qualifying and race start.

What makes the result extra special is that it was Lando Norris who finished on P2. It was the only time in 2021 that a team managed to score a one-two. Both Mercedes and Red Bull Racing failed to do so. Ricciardo on the top step of the podium obviously means a 'shoey' and a few weeks later McLaren CEO Zak Brown had stopped by a tattoo shop to immortalize the victory on his arm.
