Pirelli completes test program in Imola
The Italian tyre supplier has reserved 18 test days for the F1 teams to try out the new tyres in order to gather data. It turned out to be quite a challenge to fit those days into the busy schedule, but it has now been achieved.
The test days will be divided among nine teams, with Haas not participating. The
Pirelli tests will take place after the Grands Prix of Austria, Hungary and Italy, while a one-day test is also scheduled at Monza, where only
Red Bull Racing will be present.
On the first day of testing in
Imola,
Esteban Ocon (Alpine), Guanyu Zhou (Alfa Romeo) and
Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri) took to the track in dry conditions at Imola. On Wednesday they will be relieved by
Ferrari, for whom both
Charles Leclerc and
Carlos Sainz will be in action. Robert Kubica will do so on behalf of
Alfa Romeo and Yuki Tsunoda on behalf of AlphaTauri.
