The best F1 title fights - Who will win the world championship in 2021?

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are having an exciting season. Both drivers are only one point apart and that tension doesn't seem to disappear in the coming months. However, Formula 1 history has seen many more such battles.

In the 2007 season the battle was between Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen. While at the time crown prince Hamilton and two-time world champion Alonso were constantly fighting each other at McLaren, it was Ferrari opponent Raikkonen who eventually took the main prize. It resulted in Alonso having to leave his team after the season.

We saw a similar fight seven years later, when Hamilton was now multiple world champion with Mercedes. At that time, Nico Rosberg was Hamilton's teammate and he wanted to do everything he could to remove him from the throne. As a result, both drivers were sidelined several times, but in the end it was Rosberg who won the battle. It was the end of Rosberg's career in Formula 1.
