A great morning for Honda and Toro Rosso. Plenty of laps demonstrating their improved reliabiltiy. And pretty good speed beating the likes of Kevin Magnussen and the two Renault drivers.
On their 200th Grand Prix weekend, Force India are sounding positive about their performance in FP1 this morning. Can they excell this weekend? 8th place is a good start!
Again, not the best of starts for McLaren. And they admit themselves that they've got plenty of work to do in the coming hours. It was a slow start for Alonso who took over 30 minutes to get a lap in. Team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne damaged his nose.
Ferrari never really challenged for top spot. Obviously it's unclear on what fuel loads they ran with and we won't know until tomorrow. But it looks like they've struggled this morning.
And of course, Mercedes are buzzing as they continue their dominance from the French Grand Prix. Is this now the story until the end of the season?
