Alpine was fined €5,000 after qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The French team's drivers, Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, finished P10 and P15 respectively in Sin City during qualifying.
The incident concerned the Argentine driver's tyres, as the team failed to electronically lodge their return.
In their explanation, the FIA stewards write: "Although the tyres were returned physically there is still a responsibility to electronically lodge their return with the FIA and this was not done."
For this incident, it was clearly not Colapinto who received a penalty, but the team did instead. Alpine is fined €5,000, the stewards have now revealed.
