Ferrari driver, reflecting on his challenging qualifying session under the Vegas night sky, opened up about his frustrations. Hamilton also described his debut campaign with the Maranello-based outfit as the hardest of his career so far.
“It feels horrible. It doesn't feel good. I just have to let it go, but I am going to try and come back tomorrow,” Hamilton said during his interaction with the media following qualifying," he said.
“I've done everything I could possibly do in terms of preparation and getting all the practice sessions in. Today was an amazing experience. I didn’t get a lap at the end, but I felt good.”

“We were quickest, and then we came out of qualifying 20th. This year is definitely the hardest."
Quizzed on whether this was his worst qualifying in terms of grip over his 18-year career, he continued:
“Definitely, this is the first. I couldn't get the tyres working. The car was feeling great in FP3, and I honestly thought it was going to be a good day."
Hamilton, who had finished the final practice session in fifth place,
was only quick enough for 20th in the weather-affected qualifying session. The result by the seven-time champion marked the first time in his career that he qualified last on the time sheets.
Hamilton on missing out on a final push lap
Hamilton also addressed missing out on a final push lap during qualifying. He stated he hadn’t realised he had time for one more attempt, having encountered a yellow flag at the final corner.
He said: “I wasn't aware, no. I had a yellow flag in the last corner, and then, going into turn 17, there was a yellow flag. I had to lift, came across the line, and it was red. But I didn't have the grip anyway, I don't think it would have made much difference.”
Looking ahead to his chances of recovery for the race, Hamilton concluded:
“If it's dry tomorrow, I think we've got a really good car, yeah. So it'll be really, really hard to come back from 20th."
