Max Verstappen will see three of his four engineers leave the Red Bull Racing team, reports De Telegraaf. The reigning world champion's crew at the Austrian outfit is undergoing a major shake-up. Verstappen has a team of four engineers around him during
Formula 1 sessions with Red Bull Racing. Race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase may be the most well-known among this group, as he is regularly heard on the team radio. The rest of the team consists of control engineer Michael Manning, engine engineer David Mart and performance engineer Tom Hart, but according to the Dutch newspaper, everyone except Lambiase will be leaving the team at Red Bull Racing.
Where are the Red Bull key figures going?
Mart is moving to Audi’s Formula 1 team, Manning is ready for a new challenge, and Hart is making a switch to the Williams team, where he will take on a higher position. From Verstappen’s engineering team, only Lambiase will remain. In the past two years, many personnel have left Red Bull, including
Adrian Newey and
Jonathan Wheatley. All of this is about the turmoil involving
Christian Horner, who, after 20 years of loyal service, is no longer working for the Austrian team.
GPblog asked Red Bull Racing and Audi about the story but has not yet received a response. Williams, where Tom Hart is reportedly headed, declined to comment on the matter.
The news emerged after qualifying for the
Las Vegas Grand Prix, where Verstappen finished in second place.
Lando Norris secured pole position for Sunday’s race on the streets of Las Vegas. Carlos Sainz and George Russell will start behind the reigning Formula 1 world champion.
