Formula One has suffered criticism recently due to the lack of overtaking in recent years, however Haas boss Gunther Steiner believes the sport should not be thinking about making drastic changes anytime soon.
There has been talk over making rear wings wider to aid with overtaking by making DRS more powerful, although a lot of fans do not like the DRS, calling it artificial.
Albert Park in Australia saw a third DRS zone introduced, and Bahrain had its DRS zone extended.
The third DRS zone in Melbourne was not successful, however the move in Bahrain was successful, with many more overtakes seen in the Middle East.
Steiner supports these plans, however thinks that the sport shouldn’t try too hard to create overtaking, saying: “When we make decisions to implement them quickly, we’ve always created more problems than benefits.
“So, let’s study them properly, let’s think about it, and then do something or do nothing.
“I would like to see at least four races under our belt, because we shouldn’t jump to a conclusion after the early races of the season.
“Working to make the cars more overtaking friendly – it’s a good idea, but also we should avoid knee-jerk reactions.”
