Sergio Perez had a tough day during qualifying but the SportPesa Racing Point driver is hopeful to get into the points during tomorrow's British Grand Prix. The Mexican racer had hoped to get into Q3 but will instead start the race from 15th and will have a lot of overtaking to do if he is to achieve his goal. SportPesa will pay a £1,000 to charity for every place gained by either Perez or Lance Stroll.
"My day hasn't been as good as the fans!" Perez said at a SportPesa fan zone interview. "Q2 is not enough but when we came here we knew it would be tough so tomorrow we hope to be able to improve. Getting into the points would be great."
Perez praised the British Grand Prix and is hoping for some typical British summer weather during the race tomorrow.
"Silverstone is really really awesome," he said. "Rain would be great! I don't know what's happening, it's the first time we don't have proper rain!"
Perez is currently 13th in the Drivers Championship and will hope to gain some points for himself and the team tomorrow.
