Oliver Bearman says an announcement over his future at Haas is 'not in his hands' with the team yet to make an official confirmation that he will drive for them in the 2027 season.
The American team have already confirmed that Rafael Camara will replace Esteban Ocon at the end of the current campaign. Despite his strong performances for Haas, Bearman's future still remains unresolved with only five races left on the calendar this season.
Bearman, speaking in Thursday's press conference ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, said it was 'very clear' that he wants to continue with Haas next season. However, there remain some details that still need to be ironed out.
He said: "There are a few things in, in the background that we're working on, but it's been very clear that, that, continuing with Haas will, will be my target and we're just finalising a few things in that front."
Pressed for when any confirmation will be made, Bearman admitted that he did not know, and if it was up to him, the announcement would have come a 'long time ago.

"It’s not really in my hands. I can tell you that. If it was up to me, it would have already been announced a long time ago,” he said. "There are a few bigger picture things that we're working on."
What Haas have said about Bearman's future
Ahead of the United States Grand Prix last week, team principal Ayao Komatsu insisted he would like to keep the Brit, but said some contractual details still had to be finalised.
He said: "I can’t go into certain contractual details, but for me of course I’d very much like to continue with Ollie. He's an incredible talent and has showed amazing growth. This year, he has also shown that he is ready to be a team leader.
"How he raced in Singapore was also very impressive. It's just a matter of timing and finalising certain details. But yes, it is our intention to continue with Ollie, but then a formal announcement will come in due course."
