Carlos Sainz has batted off any Red Bull rumours and stated that he is 'very confident' in his choice to move to Williams.
The Spaniard has full belief in the project and is excited for his own future at the team.
George Russell is yet to sign a contract extension with Mercedes, and if Verstappen were to leave Red Bull and move to the Brackley-based team, there would be a seat available at Red Bull.
GPblog asked Sainz if that opening was something that he'd be pursuing if there were an opportunity.

Sainz stresses: 'Williams is my commitment'

"I think first of all, things you're commenting on, at the moment it looks like it's rumours," Sainz told GPblog and other media at the Silverstone paddock.
"I don't know how much of the truth is going on on that end of things, but Williams knows that (they're) my commitment for the next two years and beyond if the situation allows. I believe the trajectory we're on, and I am very confident with the choice I made."

Both Williams cars failed to finish the Austrian Grand Prix after reliability issues plagued their weekend once again.
Sainz's teammate Alex Albon also retired at the Canadian Grand Prix due to an engine failure.
Still, Williams sits fifth in the constructors on 55 points, 19 ahead of the sixth-placed Racing Bulls team.
Sainz has scored 13 points this season compared to Albon's 42 in what hasn't been a dream start to life at Williams. At the Grove-based team's home Grand Prix, the Spaniard will be hoping to snap bad momentum and score solid points at Silverstone.
The Spaniard took victory in Silverstone in 2022, and will look for a statement performance this weekend.
