Daniel Ricciardo has admitted he's more than happy to move on from the Belgian Grand Prix after he and Renault had another disappointing weekend on track.
Earlier in the week Renault made the announcement that Ricciardo would be joined by Esteban Ocon next season as he arrived from Mercedes on a multi-year deal. However, come race day, Ricciardo was unable to recover from damage he sustained during lap one of the race and he went on to finish 14th whilst his teammate Nico Hulkenberg, eighth.
After another tough weekend, the Australian has admitted he is glad to see the back of the Belgian Grand Prix.
"I was glad to move on from Belgium. Our race was pretty much over from the turn one incident as it was difficult to recover with the damage we sustained," Ricciardo said in a Q and A on the Renault website.
"We showed strong pace in qualifying and should have scored some important points. Just to race on Sunday was challenging, but I’m glad we did. Monza means we have an immediate opportunity to bounce back and hopefully score well."
