Both Renault drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz admit Renault's power boost failed to make an impact during qualifying earlier today. The pairing will line up 9th and 10th on the grid tomorrow.
Renault were well beaten by one of their main rivals Haas this weekend. Romain Grosjean finished in 6th and will start in 5th tomorrow.
Speaking to Autosport, both drivers seemed to be downbeat about their performances after the session.
"You don't notice a bit more performance. Something more significant needs to happen so that it can be noticed," Hulkenberg said.
"I don't even know what you're thinking, or what you've been told, what we've got. That's not earth-shattering, I can tell you that much."

Sainz then echoed Hulkenberg confirming that he used the mode, but it wasn't as good as the one Haas have.
"Everyone has qualifying modes. Once you arrive to qualifying, yes it's a bit of performance, but we were certainly very far away from Haas to feel any kind of qualifying mode advantage," said Sainz.
Renault also gave the engine mode to their customer team Red Bull. The Austrian team were split by the Haas of Grosjean. McLaren didn't really experience much of a change either, Vandoorne was knocked out in Q1 whilst Fernando Alonso will line up 13th on the grid.
