Red Bull Racing have dominated the first practice session of the weekend, with Max Verstappen leading Daniel Ricciardo to a one-two for the Bulls at the start of the last Grand Prix weekend of the season.
A great FP1 session for Red Bull. Verstappen was the fastest out on the track with his teammate Ricciardo coming in behind him. Both drivers will be going into the race weekend with confidence. The Red Bull’s were very quick through the last sector of the lap. Verstappen led for most of the session. Verstappen's quickest time was 1.38.491 with his teammate 0.454 seconds slower.
The two Silver Arrows of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas came in behind the Red Bulls. Bottas was third quickest with Hamilton coming in fourth.
The Ferrari’s had a relatively quiet session and they are expected to have been testing things for next season. This session was in the midday sun and with both qualifying and the race being in the twilight it was hard to get a representation of what the track will be like on race day.
Robert Kubica made his return to an F1 car and was testing for next season as well.

We will have to see what happens in the second session today and if some of the other teams can try and push the Red Bulls in FP2. It will be a close race if the Red Bulls pace will continue into today's later session and qualifying.
