Race of Champions | Coulthard vs Hakkinen, Vettel beaten in first heat

In the middle of the winter break, the Race of Champions provides us with the action we need. Several big names in motorsport compete against each other in short heats on a snowy track in Sweden. The first heats have already taken place.

What was noticeable was that Sebastian Vettel took a while to get going. He was narrowly beaten in the first heat by sim racer Lucas Blakeley. His teammate Mick Schumacher on the other hand defeated Jarno Opmeer with a lead of over two seconds. Later on Schumacher also took care of Blakeley.

In addition to Vettel and Schumacher, there are other familiar names in the iconic race. For example, former McLaren teammates David Coulthard and Mika Hakkinen will compete in the quarterfinals on behalf of Great Britain and Finland, respectively. Coulthard has won the race twice before, in 2014 and 2018.
