Auction of Imola GP trophies raises over quarter of a million euros

Formula 1 has raised hundreds of thousands of euros for flood victims in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, during a special auction. Through the F1 Authentics website, several trophies that were actually supposed to be awarded during the Grand Prix at the Imola circuit were auctioned off. Their sale raised a total of €252,670 (£217,000).

The most money was paid for trophy for the winning constructor. In the end, it went for a whopping 71,275 euros.

An overview of the amount raised during the auction:
- Pole position award, signed by all drivers: 40,745 euros
- Bottle of Ferrari Trentino, signed by all drivers: 11,175 euros
- Trophy for third place, signed by all drivers: €32,050
- Trophy for second place, signed by all drivers: 37,325 euros
- Trophy for first place, signed by all drivers: 60,100 euros
- Trophy for the winning constructor, signed by all drivers: 71,275 euros

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix was cancelled last May due to severe weather and flooding in the region. Several drivers and teams set up initiatives to raise money for those affected by the natural disaster.
