On the traditional press day prior to the Belgian Grand Prix, there was a lot of discussion about Christian Horner's dismissal and Max Verstappen's future. Red Bull's rival McLaren was also asked about the Austrian team moving on from Horner.
Oscar Piastri first addressed the situation at McLaren's 2026 car: "It's certainly very happy where I am, and I mean I was happy before some of the movements and rumours that are going on. I think it is a massive strength of ours how united we are, how strong we are as a team, and from so many areas. It does make me appreciate it.
"I already did appreciate it beforehand, but I think the stability is certainly a nice thing. And I think just with my time in the sport, I'm understanding a bit better that stability is not always that common." Piastri was asked for his opinion on the dismissal and discussed the current situation at Red Bull with GPblog and others.
"I learned about it like everyone else, but for me, it really doesn't affect much. I don't spend much time thinking about it. It was obviously a bit of a surprise I guess, or a big change, but it doesn't affect me.
"I would like to win anywhere, but here is always a track I've really enjoyed from the first time I came here. I think there's a lot of corners here that are unique to Spa."
