The F3 practice session was postponed due to thick fog currently covering the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Will the weather also affect Formula 1, particularly during FP1 and the sprint qualifying? After a two-week break, Formula 1 is finally ready to hit the track again for the thirteenth round of the season — and it will do so at one of the most beloved circuits among drivers, as well as one of the most iconic on the entire calendar.
We’re talking, of course, about
Spa-Francorchamps: a track known for its sweeping high-speed corners and the alternation of highly technical sections that demand a setup compromise between medium and low downforce.
Beyond that, however, the Belgian circuit is also renowned for its unpredictable and often erratic weather — a reputation earned through numerous historic races that have been dramatically affected by rain striking at the most unexpected moments.
F3 session delayed due to thick fog
And, as expected, the weather has already begun to shake things up. Due to thick fog at the circuit and poor visibility, the F3 practice session has been postponed.
Practice will now take place at 14:00 local time, and run for 30 minutes instead of the scheduled 45. Instead, Qualifying will run at 19:10.
Weather forecast expected for F1
As for today’s sessions, light rain is expected in the morning, with a 60% chance of precipitation and a maximum temperature of 20°C.
In the afternoon, skies are forecast to clear up slightly, though there remains a chance of scattered showers developing as the day progresses.
