Sergio Perez is very pleased with his performances so far this season and says he has regained the confidence he lost during the final phase of his time at Red Bull Racing. The Mexican driver came close to scoring
Cadillac's first-ever
Formula 1 point at the Monaco Grand Prix, but a time penalty ultimately dropped him from P10.
Perez says he has been very satisfied with his performances so far this season, as he explained to GPblog and other media outlets at Silverstone. The Mexican returned to Formula 1 after sitting out the 2025 campaign, having been released by Red Bull Racing and replaced by Liam Lawson after 2024.
"I'm really happy and confident and it's like the confidence that I lost in the last six months at my previous team, it's all back and I do believe that I'm operating at a very high level."

I think the confidence is completely back. I'm really happy and confident and it's like the confidence that I lost in the last six months at my previous team, it's all back and I do believe that I'm operating at a very high level."
He added: "Just feeling at one with the car, with the team, that brings the whole confidence back and knowing that you can perform at your very best."
Over his years in Formula 1, Perez has been considered to be among the best in terms of tyre management. The Cadillac driver believes that translated to the current generation of cars as well. He concluded: "Yes, definitely. You can see my race pace. It's extremely good. Qualifying has been good, but I think it's the race pace where I make a bit of a difference."
Critical period ahead for Cadillac
Perez also highlighted the importance of the next months ahead for
the American team.
"We are obviously now into our ninth race, so obviously the whole team wants to see more progress in all areas and more structure. So we are in that process of structuring everything out and being a new team. There are so many challenges we seem to be facing already those issues that other teams are facing. "So, yeah, we are in our proper fight and trying to structure our team as best as possible. We are at a critical stage, where I think the next two, three months are critical in our future in terms of obviously development on to next year's ideas and decisions that the team needs to take for next year. So now it's a very critical period for our team."
