Esteban Ocon, 21, currently racing for Forced India remains on the future driver list for Mercedes. Both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas remain undecided for their 2019 seats.
Ocon, who uses a Mercedes engine currently, is being outperformed by team-mate Sergio Perez. Perez is currently 6 points ahead on the drivers' standings.
The Frenchman remains optimistic about his future but keeps his eyes on the current job at hand. “I don’t think too much about my future,” Ocon told Marca Newspaper.
“I think it’s more important to be focused on what you’re doing right now. Mercedes will decide when and if they want me. The only thing I can do is a good job here, so that’s what I’m focused on.
“We’ll see what they want to do.”
