After the Belgian Grand Prix - for which Red Bull Racing brought an update - it can cautiously be concluded that the gap with Mclaren is still there. But giving up the season is not what Max Verstappen wants to do for an important reason.
Red Bull Racing is busy introducing the final package of updates for Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda's RB21. Undoubtedly, there will be a few adjustments here and there after the summer break, but otherwise, the focus is entirely on the 2026 car.

Red Bull wants to learn in '25

With the world title for Max Verstappen far out of sight, working on the car for the coming year is one of the focus points for the Dutchman and his team. “I think it's still important also this year to learn certain things because they will also have an effect on next year,” Verstappen explained amongst others to GPblog.

"Because the cars will be completely different but there are still things that we can work on and take also to next year. Of course, engineering and everything, the car design is on the way for next year, but we can still learn a lot also this year," concluded the four-time world champion.
Arvid Lindblad is the driver within Red Bull who does the most work in the simulator and virtually tested the 2026 RB22. Over the past weekend in Spa, he told GPblog that Formula 1 will look different next year, based on his experiences in the simulator.
