MotoGP race in Japan cancelled, what does this mean for Formula 1?

The MotoGP round in Japan has been cancelled. This race would take place in October, but will be replaced by a Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. What does this mean for the Japanese GP in Formula 1?

Autosport.com reports that the MotoGP race has been cancelled due to the pandemic. There are still too many travel restrictions that get in the way. This is already the second year in a row that this series will not race in Japan.

This news also creates question marks for the Formula One Japan GP. If the travel restrictions continue, it will be difficult for F1 to organize a race here as well. The race in Japan is scheduled for October 10.

Last year there was also no racing at the circuit in Japan due to the pandemic. The year before, in 2019, Max Verstappen dropped out due to damage. Alexander Albon finished in fourth place. For Honda, it would be nice if they can get a good result at their home circuit this year.
