Montoya expects driver change to happen soon: once again within the Red Bull family

Lindblad, who is currently competing in F2 and won for the first time in the series during the Jeddah Sprint Race was previously called Red Bull's current biggest talent by top advisor Helmut Marko. Over the winter, he has earned himself enough points for a super license, but he is yet to turn 18 years old.

Talking in AS's MontoyAS podcast, the Colombian said: "I’ll tell you the truth. If Liam doesn’t improve any further, I wouldn’t be surprised if they (Racing Bulls) put Lindblad in at some point."

Earlier this season, the Austrians made the decision to replace Lawson at Red Bull Racing with Yuki Tsunoda, who's currently Max Verstappen's teammate.

Montoya compared the way Red Bull work to a driver swap that happened last week, when it was announced that Jack Doohan will be replaced by Franco Colapinto at Alpine.

Lawson is one of three drivers who are yet to score points in the 2025 season, after the ones he earned during the Miami Sprint were taken away because of a penalty handed out by the stewards.
