McLaren team principal Andrea Stella is not worried after Oscar Piastri's mistake at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. "A one-off for [someone] who has been probably the most solid driver in this season."
- Andrea Stella, McLaren's team principalOscar Piastri crashed out on Lap 1 of the Azerbaijan GP after he ran into the barrier.
It was a rare mistake for the Australian, which doesn't make McLaren team principal Andrea Stella concerned at all.
"I've worked with multiple-time champions and in a season, every season, even [in] the most dominant [one], even by one of the best drivers in the history of Formula One, like Michael Schumacher, I have seen events like this, events in which the most you take away is the learning," the Italian began.

"Because things become for some reason difficult and as soon as you misjudge the grip available you get highly punished.
"So a one-off for [someone] who has been probably the most solid driver in this season. It concludes a streak of 44 races that Oscar has finished, just to say how solid, consistent he’s been so far.
"So a one-off weekend in which things don't go your way and you ultimately have lots to review is no surprise, no exception that we should be worried about because this has happened to pretty much all champions, even the ones with the best track record," Stella concluded.
The drivers' standings after Baku
While this weekend,
Verstappen headed to Germany where he won his first GT3 race at the famous Nordschleife, last Sunday, he also crossed the finish line first in Azerbaijan.
After this result, 69 points separate the Australian and the defending world champion in the drivers' standings.
Piastri's teammate, Lando Norris, is currently 25 points behind.
