2019 didn't go the way Ferrari would have liked but the team have announced their first steps of the 2020 season, confirming the unveiling of their new car will take place on the 11th February and Mattia Binotto explained why.
Ferrari finished second in the Constructors' Championship last season, behind Mercedes but their driver lineup of Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel finished fourth and fifth in the drivers' edition respectively. Their season was also hampered by a combination of reliability, team issues and driver collisions.
Ferrari will want to get off to a better start next season and Mattia Binotto has revealed the team will do so by launching their car on the 11th February so they can carry out a vigorous aerodynamic test.
"We are going to launch our car on 11 February because we then planned an intense test program on the dyno," Binotto said as quoted by Motorsport.com.
"The reason why we are early with the launch and unveiling is because we are starting the real test work in Barcelona some homologations have to be completed on the test bench."
