Verstappen was making progress in the Hungarian Grand Prix, after an early pit stop set him far back in the field and he got stuck in traffic. Once he was in tenth place, he encountered an old acquaintance:
Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari driver was in the vicinity of the top ten, much like Verstappen, after a disappointing qualification on Saturday.
At Turn four, Verstappen took an outside turn past Hamilton, but gave him little space.
Hamilton had to deviate and ended up off the track. The incident was forwarded by the race direction to the stewards,
where Verstappen and Hamilton have since reported to give an explanation. That conversation took place at 17:15.
