Charles Leclerc shared his thoughts on the first-lap incident with Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri that ended his Brazil GP.
"In my opinion, actually, Kimi was as much to blame as Oscar"
- Charles Leclerc
The Monegasque believes that both Piastri and Antonelli share equal responsibility for the incident: "It's a shame. Collateral damage of an incident between Oscar and Kimi, where, in my opinion, actually, Kimi was as much to blame as Oscar."
The Ferrari driver was the only real victim of the incident, as both Antonelli and Piastri managed to continue without major issues — though the latter was handed a ten-second penalty that dropped him out of podium contention.
He then added: "It's a bit of a 50-50 incident. Oscar being optimistic, Kimi doing the corner like Oscar was never there. That means they collided and touched me. It's very frustrating, considering we are fighting for second [in the] Constructors Championship and we are the only ones not finishing the race today, so it's going to be very difficult to get that second [place]."

A disastrous Brazil GP for Ferrari

Ferrari leaves the Brazilian GP empty-handed after a double retirement, following Lewis Hamilton’s own first-lap incident — first colliding with Carlos Sainz and then rear-ending Franco Colapinto on the straight, damaging his floor and suffering a significant loss of downforce, ultimately forcing him to retire.
The Maranello outfit now trails Mercedes by 32 points in the Constructors’ Championship, with Antonelli’s podium widening the gap and making the fight for second place increasingly difficult for the Italian team.
