Lewis Hamilton did not manage to move beyond fifth place in qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix. Nevertheless, the Briton is satisfied, and hopes to win the race, he told Formula1.com.
For a while, things looked very good for Hamilton: his teammate George Russell, Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc were eliminated before Q3. Nevertheless, the Briton starts fourth, behind Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.

Hamilton satisfied

Despite only starting in fourth place, the seven-time world champion is satisfied with the result: "It was interesting, because during the session I started thinking, 'Damn, only yesterday I said I wouldn't get into Q3, and now I'm proving myself wrong.' It was a great session, and I was positively surprised at how competitive we were. I couldn't believe we were competing for the top three."
