Hamilton accused of fake news by Hungarian minister

Lewis Hamilton spoke out harshly about Hungarian politics this week. The Englishman showed his criticism on social media about the anti LGBTQ law that the government passed this year. The Hungarian minister Judit Varga is not happy with that.

The Justice Minister even accused the Mercedes driver of spreading fake news, she told Kronen Zeitung. "I have sadly seen that Lewis Hamilton is also joining the camp of international fake news manufacturers by attacking our child protection law," she stated.

Varga therefore noted that Hamilton should focus on what he is good at: driving. "I suggest that Lewis Hamilton should read the Hungarian Child Protection Act,” said Varga. “And then the shoe-maker should stick to making shoes, and a F1 driver should stick to driving."

Hamilton is preparing for his final race before the summer break in Hungary this weekend. The British driver is currently eight points behind in the World Championship and will be hoping to at least close that gap this weekend. Max Verstappen however seems to be sufficiently recovered after the incident at Silverstone and ready to make things difficult for Hamilton.
