Isack Hadjar admitted he was fortunate that Red Bull Racing's rear wing issue had only affected Max Verstappen in recent races. The Frenchman added that the team is working hard to resolve the problem.
Earlier today, this website reported that Red Bull Racing will not use its 'Macarena' rear wing at the Belgian Grand Prix after issues with the component contributed to two incidents for Max Verstappen at the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone.
Speaking to GPblog, among others, Hadjar explained that the team is working hard to ensure the 'Macarena' wing can return as soon as possible.
He said: "I mean, visually, it's obviously a big change, but in the car, it's not, it's less than you might think. It's hard even for us to measure the loss, going back to it. So we still reckon to have like similar competitiveness to last weekend, for example, even though it's definitely a less impressive rear wing. But we're making sure the other one comes back to us as soon as we can and in a safer way as well."

Hadjar: 'I got lucky, unlike Verstappen'

Hadjar was unaffected by the rear wing issues over the past few weeks. The Frenchman considers himself fortunate in that regard.
Answering a question from this website, he added: "I guess I got quite lucky for two rounds in a row. So yes, this one was really down to luck. It could have happened to none of us and it could have happened four times to the both of us. So, on this one, he took it for me unfortunately and to be honest he's probably his problem is my problem as well, and we need to fix it."

The four-time world champion also addressed Red Bull's decision. Verstappen himself didn't ask for that change, he explained. "No, I think that was clear to everyone. That this was the wisest thing to do for this weekend," said Verstappen, who does admit that the ‘old’ rear wing may cost a bit of lap time.
"I think it’s a little bit slower, but it’s not going to turn the world upside down."
