Haas focuses on 2022 "Making a big investment before 2021 is a waste of money"

It has not been a goos year for Haas. The team have scarcely managed to score any points and they are currently ninth in the Constructors' Championship. It doesn't look like it will get much better for 2021 either, because the team is now aiming its arrows at 2022.
The technical rules, with the exception of a few aerodynamic aspects, remain largely the same for next year and Haas team boss Guenther Steiner announced that the team will only make the necessary adjustments. "It's going to be a tough year for us," he told Racefans.net. "We certainly have to do something for next year, but it won't be something spectacular because we just don't have the resources of the big teams."

Wind out of our sails

"Making a big effort [for 2021] is like wasting money," Steiner added. "I'd rather keep that money for the car of '22." As a result of the coronavirus, Formula 1 teams have seen their revenues fall. "I think we have been hit very hard by FOM's income this year, so we have not received the full amount.
"It takes a bit of wind out of our sails, a year like this."
