Frédéric Vasseur was visibly upset during the FIA's press conference for team representatives, ahead of the second free practice for the Grand Prix of Canada.
Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, stood up for the French team boss of the Italian Scuderia. "Leave Frédéric Vasseur alone. He's doing a great job and he needs to stay focused and strong on his goal. He needs to disconnect from outside pressure. Right now, he needs to save all his energy to continue his work," the F1 CEO told L'Equipe.
"I told him, and I'm telling you officially: I believe in him! He must not fall into the trap of weakening in the face of these attacks, because they always come. Let him work in peace, that's how Ferrari will return to the top," he continued.
In recent weeks, there were rumors that Vasseur might resign as team boss of Ferrari. The team released a statement clarifying that there was no question of a possible dismissal, as initially suggested by the Italian mediumCorriere della Sera.

Vasseur furious during press conference in Canada

"First I have to stay calm because I will have to finish [with going] to the stewards. It's some Italian media, it's not all Italian media. It's not about myself, I think, because this I can manage. It's more about the people of the team. To throw their name like this, I think it's just disrespectful for them, for the family. And we had the case last year with the chief of aero already," Vasseur said during the press conference after the first free practice.
Last week, there was also some commotion surrounding Lewis Hamilton. The future Ferrari driver had allegedly liked a critical post on Instagram, but then unliked it shortly after.
