It didn't happen until the very last moment, but Lewis Hamilton managed to take pole position in qualifying for the Grand Prix of Portugal. Valtteri Bottas was left behind.

Verstappen on second row

Bottas was a little more than a tenth behind his teammate, with Max Verstappen slightly behind that. In the second row, Verstappen will be joined by Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari. Verstappen's teammate again had to concede more than half a second to the Dutchman and did not get further than sixth fastest time behind Sergio Perez.

Vettel disappoints again

Leclerc managed to drive an excellent qualifying session, but that cannot be said of his teammate Sebastian Vettel. He will start on Sunday in fifteenth and even had to pass George Russell in the Williams in Q2, which the Brit was very happy with. Daniel Ricciardo went in the gravel in Q2, which prevented him from taking action in Q3. He will start tenth on Sunday.
