Mansell hopes Perez joins Cadillac: 'He helped Verstappen!'

However, Mansell believes that the brand-new Formula 1 constructor would do well to sign the Mexican. "Hopefully there are smart people at Cadillac who plan their strategy well. In the first year, you need experienced drivers who can provide feedback, so they know what is needed to be maximally competitive. You need people at the helm who know what they are doing, otherwise you spend a fortune without being competitive."

With the addition of an eleventh team on the grid, there is also one more spot to fill. It is no secret that Mick Schumacher also hopes for a spot in Formula 1.
