Montezemolo, who spoke to Reuters on the premiere of his documentary ‘Luca: Seeing Red', touched on why he considers the Red Bull Racing driver as the best. The 78-year-old also talked about how Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were a good pair at the Ferrari team.
"Today I have to say, for me, Verstappen is by far the number one. Even in the last race in Baku, with difficult conditions, he never lost control. He was always quick. He never makes mistakes.”
"(Carlos) Sainz and (Charles) Leclerc were a very good (Ferrari) couple. But no question, Verstappen is by far the best in my view. By far."

Since bursting onto the Formula 1 scene in 2015, Verstappen has continued to etch his name into the history of Formula 1. The Dutch driver has so far clinched four world championships and is with a fighting chance of making it a fifth consecutive crown.
Verstappen has also continued to eclipse several records within the F1 scene, and only recently did he equal Lewis Hamilton for the second record of drivers with the most grand slams in the history of the sport.

The 78-year-old also explained why he felt the Marenello-based outfit would have been better if it had continued with the leadership of Matteo Binotto.
