Ferrari has endured a stuttering start to this season as the Scuderia is yet to win a Grand Prix in 2025. The Italian team has shown moments of raw speed, such as
Lewis Hamilton's Sprint win in China, but they haven't amounted to anything.
Charles Leclerc has been quick in qualifying at times and took second place on the grid in Monaco.
The last couple of rounds have been a step forward, particularly at the British Grand Prix, as Hamilton and Leclerc narrowly missed out on pole position.
They have had a series of struggles with the rear suspension and ride height which has blocked the SF-25 from hitting its full potential.
Ferrari will run an updated car with a new rear suspension at Mugello in a filming day on Wednesday, July 16th, according to Motorsport.com
The new suspension, together with a revised floor, which was introduced at the Austrian Grand Prix, may provide a boost in performance.
The new floor and rear suspension could bring around a tenth of a second
Ferrari have been in contention for the podium places over the last couple of events in particular.
The Italian team were McLaren's closest challenger in Austria as Leclerc finished third ahead of his teammate Hamilton.
Last time out at Silverstone saw both drivers challenged for pole position but narrowly missed out as Max Verstappen snatched top spot.
Hamilton took fourth place behind Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg in the race, but
there were signs of improvement from the seven-time world champion.
The revised Ferrari may help the Italian team to push further up the field, but they have already lost a lot of points in the opening 12 rounds. Ferrari sits second in the Constructors' Championship, 238 points down on McLaren.
