From Ferrari’s filming day at Monza to Red Bull’s run at Silverstone, here are the key stories from today in Formula 1. Ferrari were the first of the frontrunners to show their hand, sending the SF-26 out at Monza for a key filming day ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, where a broad package of upgrades made its debut.
The Scuderia has also rolled out a reworked floor, marking a clear step on from the specification seen in the opening rounds.
Alongside that, Ferrari has revisited its ‘macarena’ wing concept, bringing it back into the mix after briefly introducing it earlier in the season before abandoning it across subsequent race weekends.
Finally, additional aerodynamic elements have been reinstated around the base of the halo. These small fins are aimed at tidying up airflow around the cockpit, directing it more efficiently towards the air intake and rear end, with the biggest benefit expected at higher speeds.

Red Bull took to the track at Silverstone for a filming day this afternoon, mirroring Ferrari’s recent outing at Monza, and used the opportunity to run an upgraded RB22 ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. It comes after a disappointing opening phase of the season, with the team scoring just 16 points across the first three races - no podiums, no poles, and even behind Alpine and Haas in the standings.
The objective is clearly to halt that slide as quickly as possible. There is at least some confidence in the package thanks to a power unit that remains among the strongest on the grid, despite being the first built entirely by the Red Bull Ford power unit project.

Red Bull appears to have adopted endplates with added winglets, aligning with solutions already introduced by other teams earlier in the campaign.
There are also signs of a revised rear wing, particularly in the design of its adjustable elements, suggesting a rethink in how the car manages airflow. Most striking, however, are the sidepods, which now feature a much steeper and more aggressive profile than the previous specification.
