From the latest on Red Bull's rear wing going into the Belgium Grand Prix to Sergio Perez's hilarious reaction to Lewis Hamilton's Instagram video, GPblog recaps you the best news of the day from the world of Formula 1. Red Bull allowed to use controversial rear wing in Spa
Red Bull will be allowed to
use the 'Macarena' rear wing during the Belgium Grand Prix, despite
Max Verstappen's recent crashes in Austria and Silverstone. GPblog understands that the FIA has not yet made a decision on the innovative wing concept, despite the ongoing investigation following Verstappen's accidents during qualifying for the Austrian GP and in the race for the British GP.
During both race weekends, the rear wing on his Red Bull did not fully close, causing the Dutchman to suddenly lose a large amount of rear downforce in fast corners and run off the track. At Silverstone,
Verstappen said he was "lucky" and that he could have "really hurt" himself.
The FIA is in talks with both Red Bull and Ferrari about the rear wing which rotates on the straight to reduce drag and is supposed to be fully closed again before entering the corner. Red Bull meanwhile hope to have a solution to the problem for the upcoming F1 weekend in Belgium.
Sergio Perez's cheeky comment to Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton posted an Instagram video where he is seen surfing while on holiday with Kim Kardashian. In response, Sergio Perez could not help himself as he offered a cheeky comment in response to Hamilton.
The seven-time world champion thrilled his fans with the video of his surfing, in which he impresses with a perfectly executed 360-degree spin on a wave, with Kardashian thrilled by the Ferrari driver's display.
Cadillac driver Perez though had his doubts over Hamilton's video, as he quipped "Ai 100%."
