Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri made contact during the Singapore Grand Prix. Amid the incident between the pair, George Russell coasted to victory on the Marina Bay streets. Let’s take a look at today’s events in Formula 1. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri made contact during the Singapore Grand Prix. The
McLaren drivers had a brief moment at Turn 3 on the opening lap of the street race.
The pair, who are locked in a championship battle, made contact as Norris attempted an overtake on Piastri.
The incident left Piastri frustrated, with the Australian fuming over the radio to his race engineer.
Norris, on his part, labelled the incident as “hard racing” when quizzed about it during his post-race interaction after finishing on the podium.

While the McLaren drivers continued to debate the fairness of their lap-one incident in Singapore, one driver who continued to eke out time throughout the race was George Russell.
The Mercedes driver, who qualified on pole, did well to convert his first-place start into a race victory under the lights at Marina Bay. Russell, who is yet to pen a contract extension with the Mercedes team, was at one point around 10 seconds ahead of
Max Verstappen in second place. The British driver would eventually take the chequered flag with over a six-second lead over the Red Bull Racing driver.
The win for Russell was his second of the season and the fifth of his career. It also marked his maiden podium finish on the Singapore streets, particularly after his crash during the 2023 edition of the race.
