From Lewis Hamilton's first-ever Ferrari victory at the Barcelona GP, to Kimi Antonelli's heartbreaking DNF, here are the main stories from today, June 14.

Hamilton secures first-ever Ferrari win at Barcelona GP

It has finally happened, Lewis Hamilton has won in Ferrari red. The seven-time world champion, with an aggressive three-stop strategy and a bit of good fortune under the VSC, became the first non-Mercedes driver to win a Grand Prix at Barcelona.
Making good use of a blistering middle stint, Hamilton got ahead of Mercedes duo George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, and he was able to stay there after the VSC was brought out for Fernando Alonso's crash on Lap 61. With fresher tyres, Hamilton stormed to victory by a nearly 20-second margin.
Such was Hamilton's pace in Barcelona, he may well have won the race without the help of that VSC. The Briton was visibly emotional during the national anthems and podium celebrations, making sure to thank those that had supported him through a tough 2025 debut season.

Speaking after the race, Hamilton said: "First I have to start and say a huge grazie to everyone here. My team here at Ferrari, everyone back at the factory. Fred for believing in me and bringing me to this team. I started out a dream which seemed almost impossible during my time last year but we never gave up hope and the team continued to lift me up. We made so many changes and we made so many improvements. On top of that, I have got the greatest fanbase a sportsman could ever ask for and so thank you to everybody."
When asked where this win ranked among his incredible 106 career victories, Hamilton said: "They are all special in their own way but this one is something else. I watched Ferrari have all that success when I was younger, watching it on TV. As I've been racing here, I'd always watched the screens and wondered what it would be like to win in that car - and it's come."
There is also the question of whether the seven-time world champion is in the title race, especially after championship leader Kimi Antonelli's heartbreaking DNF in Barcelona. Hamilton now sits just 41 points behind the Mercedes driver in the standings.
"I definitely will take it. There is a long, long way to go and they've still got great pace, as you can see. But we are going to keep working and trying to close that gap. It's not over, that's for sure," Hamilton concluded.

Antonelli suffers DNF heartbreak in Barcelona

While Antonelli was pleased with Hamilton's maiden Ferrari victory, he could not hide his disappointment with his battery-related DNF on Lap 62. The Italian had just got ahead of George Russell for P2, but with four laps from the finish, a battery failure brought his race to a cruel end.
Speaking to Sky F1 post-race, Antonelli said he believed he was the quickest driver on track, but the DNF has nonetheless left him feeling "empty" in Barcelona. The 19-year-old said: "I think we were the quickest on track today. Okay, Lewis, at the end, he was very quick, but second stint we were super quick. The way we came back from the battle. And yeah, the pace was good. Of course, Lewis after the VSC was not possible to catch. By the way, I'm very happy for him for his win. It's good to see that he got his first win with Ferrari.
"But on my side, yeah, very disappointing. I feel a bit empty, to be fair, right now. But at the same time, these things happen. Happens to everyone. And the most important is to come back stronger."

When asked whether he sees Hamilton as a genuine threat for his championship lead, Antonelli replied: "I mean, for sure, they're in incredible form. Ferrari is very reliable, but they're quick as well.
"We just need to maximize every opportunity that we have and then try to do our best. But it's not going to be straightforward. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Because I really want to go back to where we left or from where we were finishing before."
