Bearman close to a race ban after incident with Sainz at Monza
Last Sunday, the Italian GP—the sixteenth round of the 2025
Formula 1 season—took place, with
Max Verstappen returning to victory ahead of the two McLarens, while the drama between
Lando Norris and
Oscar Piastri sparked long discussions after the race.
In addition to the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings, the super license penalty points chart also saw significant changes in Monza, with
Oliver Bearman now very close to a one-race suspension before the end of the season.
The young British driver was involved in a collision with
Carlos Sainz, which the FIA deemed Bearman responsible for, handing him two additional points on his license as well as a ten-second race penalty.
Second on the list remains Max Verstappen, who now sits on 9 points after having some points reinstated at the end of June following the Austrian GP, but who still remains at risk.
Completing the podium of this special ranking are Oscar Piastri, with six points on his license, alongside Liam Lawson, while Kimi Antonelli has climbed the standings after receiving two points for a collision with Alex Albon.
