Oscar Piasti held on ahead of a charging Lando Norris to take victory at the Belgian Grand Prix, extending his championship lead as Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three. After an hour and 20-minute delay due to heavy rain and plenty of spray impeding the view of the drivers, the race finally got underway as the sun came out.
Four out of the 44 laps were done under the safety car before a rolling start brought the race to green flag conditions, with Norris leading Piastri and Leclerc down into turn 1.
However, just a couple of corners later, Piastri has a superb exit out of Radillon to then sweep past his teammate to take the lead.
The Australian put on the medium tyres as the race moved from wet to dry, and he was able to nurse them very well to take his first win in three races.
Norris went onto the hard tyres after coming in a lap later than his teammate, but he was unable to make use of the different tyre in the final laps, while Leclerc rounded out the podium with a solid performance.
Max Verstappen could only take P4 after his sprint race win earlier in the weekend, finishing ahead of George Russell in P5.
Lewis Hamilton moved from P18 on the grid to take a fantastic seventh place, making the most of the changing conditions, while Alex Albon finished ahead in P6 with another impressive showing.
Liam Lawson, Gabriel Bortoleto and Pierre Gasly were able to gain some vital points and round out the top ten.
