The final test of the season has come to an end in Abu Dhabi, marking the end of on-track action for 2025.
Just two days after the season finale that saw
Lando Norris win the 2025 World Championship, all ten teams took to the
Yas Marina Circuit for the final time this year.
Teams took part in a Pirelli tyre test,
which saw the 2025 cars run with the 2026 tyres that will be used next season, and a Young Driver Test across a morning and an afternoon session, collecting data before the regulation changes come into effect in 2026.

The 'mule cars' that ran in the morning session botled on Pirelli's 2026 tyres ran with a fixed speed limit of 300kph, reducing downforce and collecting data that will be more representative for the 2026 machines.
Kimi Antonelli set the fastest time of that morning session with a 1:25.170, while
Oscar Piastri and
Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top three.
The young drivers (drivers who have not taken part in no more than two Grands Prix, ed.) then got behind the wheel of the 2025 cars, and Jak Crawford in the Aston Martin was the fastest of them all with a 1:23.766 lap time.
Paul Aron and Luke Browning in the Alpine and Williams, respectively, rounded out the top three. World Champion Lando Norris ended in P12, while Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso missed out on the session.
Isola has his say on the test
After the test, Pirelli;s Motorsport Director, Mario Isola, disected the test that brought the 2025 campaign to an official end.
"By using the same mule cars as during the development tests, with the same speed limits, teams were easily able to compare the data captured in Yas Marina with that from the individual test days over the last few months," explained the Italian.
"For our engineers, this test was fundamental to confirm the performance gaps between the compounds and the degradation levels, which has been the focus of our work throughout the year.
"Analysing the new tyres, which have a smaller footprint against the surface, has also allowed us to check their exposure to graining and overheating: two effects that can potentially increase due to the smaller surface area. Now we have to wait until the end of January to see these latest tyres in action at the Barcelona test on the new generation of cars.”
