Ralf Schumacher has offered Lewis Hamilton a crucial take on handing out his technical dossiers to the Scuderia Ferrari hierarchy. “Hamilton should have been a bit less public about it.”
- Ralf Schumacher The former race driver, who recently reflected on the season the seven-time champion experienced at the Italian outfit, was quizzed about the documents Hamilton sent to the team’s hierarchy. While he acknowledged that there was nothing inherently wrong with Hamilton’s actions, Schumacher suggested the British driver could have handled it more discreetly.
“We all used to do that. Simulations weren’t as advanced back then. Things are different now. I don’t know if you should hold that against anyone. Hamilton should have been a bit less public about it,” Schumacher said via Sport 1.

The 50-year-old also proposed that Hamilton spend more time with his race engineer, Riccardo Adami, to improve communication ahead of the 2026 season.
“Basically, I think he and his engineer should go on vacation together. They just don’t get along. That’s a huge disadvantage,” he added.
During his debut season at
Ferrari, reports emerged of
Hamilton handing out a document containing his recommendations to improve operations at the Maranello-based outfit. However, Hamilton’s documents were recently criticised by former team principal of the Prancing Horse, Maurizio Arrivabene.
Schumacher predicts challenging 2026 season for Hamilton
Earlier,
Schumacher also expressed concerns about Hamilton’s prospects for the 2026 season. The multiple race winner stressed he expects the former Mercedes driver to struggle with the new regulations.
Schumacher highlighted the driver’s dislike for what he describes as “technical tinkering” among several factors behind his predictions.
